Mine Exploration - Education groups
Step back in time and explore our local copper and lead mine
Nicknamed 'Gottesgab' meaning 'God's Gift', Goldscope Mine in Newlands Valley dates back to the Elizabethan period. Explore this disused tunnel complete with helmets and headtorches and get a taste of the life and work of the miners, learning about the history and geology of this spectacular local copper and lead mine. An exciting adventure which encourages stretching comfort zones, trusting others, great for supporting history in The National Curriculum.
