The Stone Age - Education groups
Bringing pre-historic survival skills to life
Spend the day experiencing various methods used by Stone Age people for everyday life; make fire by friction and flint, build a shelter with natural materials, look at traditional tools and make a stone axe, and/or do some cave art to tell a story.
Try your hand at archery (you won't need to hunt for your meal though!) or a visit to the dramatic Castlerigg Stone Circle in Keswick to investigate how the stones got there and why they are there?
Teachers notes: Our staff will work with teaching staff prior to your visit to design your day with activities that compliment and build on what pupils have been studying, or a day with us could be used as an introduction future study.
